Did you know that you can order a book from the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) from home? If you need a book for a research project or the newest Harry Potter book to read for pleasure, you can check out whether it is available online and order it in a few easy steps if you have a sixteen digit barcode numer on the back of your Haworth Library Card. If Haworth Municipal Library does not own the book, another library in the cooperative sends the books via a delivery system to Haworth Library and someone from the library staff calls your home to let you know the book is in.

1. Click on the BCCLS letters to link to BCCLS. The home page will appear and at the bottom of the page, there is a white box in which you type either the title of the book or the keywords. You can limit the search by library and you can limit the format. If you want to limit the search in other ways, click on the word "Catalogs" and the then words "Library Catalog." This will bring up a white search page.

2. The search page allows you to check by key words, title or author. Click on the type of search you want to perform and then point and click on the cursor in the search box below. Type your search words and click search or hit enter on your keyboard. Please remember, when doing an author search, you need to type the last name of the author, then the first name.

3. The next page to appear is a page with the matches to your search. If you did not limit the search to one type of medium, books as opposed to audiotape, all the resources in the system will appear. Click on the title or resource that interests you.

4. The page containing a list of all the libraries which own the resource you want should appear next. Scroll down to the bottom of the list. You should see a box with the words, "place request." Click it.

5. On the next page you will be asked to plug in your 16 digit BCCLS number.

6. A page with your name and address appears and you need to type in your phone number and your email address. There are time limit options at the bottom of the form. Fill in the information according to your needs. Then click on the box that says place request.
