About the Librarian

 Home

The Library Media Center at Haworth Elementary School serves all of the children from kindergarten through grade 8. Students come to library each week at a scheduled time to listen to books or stories, learn about literature, do research and to learn how information is organized. Students at Haworth Public School have access to a collection of nearly 13,000 books and reference materials as well as remote access to electronic databases.

The Media Center has been the beneficiary of many fine books bought and donated at the annual HHSA Book Fair and through the generosity of Home and School allocations. In the past, HHSA allocated funds to purchase new holiday books, poetry books, and fairy tales. They have also replaced our worn out collection of Dr. Seuss and Beverly Cleary books. At the HHSA Book Fair, over 100 new books were donated by Haworth parents. Many thanks for your generosity.

Stop in and visit the Library/ Media Center. Parents may also become patrons and borrow books from the collection.

Database Subscriptions

Haworth Public School subscribes to several electronic databases that students may access remotely. Students have been given a handout with the passwords on them and should use the links below to access the databases and refer to the handout for the appropriate password. Additionally, the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) provides access to databases by using your 16-digit library card barcode as the password.

If you have a Haworth Library Card, you may use your sixteen digit barcode number to access the BCCLS databases from home. Don't forget that you may also order books and other materials as well. Do the ordering early as it might take several days or a week for the materials to be delivered to Haworth Public Library for pick up.

Literature Inspired Art has outgrown this space and moved to its own page. Students may submit artwork for scanning.

It's Book Fair Time!!!
